Made it to 35 weeks with Tater Tot
Wow this week has been very eventful with Tater Tot. It all began around 12 midnight on Tues morning. I started to have contractions. I drank lots of water and just watched the clock. After an hour they were 10 minutes apart. I tried to wake up Mr Hanna but he was sound asleep and it wasn't sinking in what I was trying to tell him. So I got up to go to the bathroom and that is when I got scared. There was blood. So I immediately called Kristin to pack up and get over here to watch Nate. Then called the Dr and we had to go to ATL Northside since I was still 34 weeks. By the time we got to the hospital the contractions were 2 minutes apart. We thought to ourselves "this is it". I was 1 cm and 90% effaced. They gave me 3 shots of terbutaline which did space them out 10 minutes apart. Then I they kept encouraging pain meds to help relax more and it could get rid of them. By this time is was around 6 am and I was exhausted since I haven't gone to bed yet. So I took the pain meds and man that was the best stuff EVER. They went away and I got to sleep for an hour. Then after all the meds wore off they started coming back again. They did an internal again and I was the same. Which is a good thing because if I was progressing then they would do a C Section. So we tried the shot one more time and a pill version. In about an hour they went away. It is now lunch time and I am starving because they wouldn't let me eat because of the possibility of surgery. The Dr came in and let me go home but on bedrest and pills to control the contractions. Got home and stuffed my face. Then I tried to go to sleep. I kept waking up with more contractions. They didn't go away until 10 that night. Nothing serious but annoying. The meds they have me on makes me shake very bad and very hard to sleep due to heart racing. That night it was so hard to sleep. The next day I had another scare with the blood and called the dr office. I went in for an ultrasound too see if there was anything else wrong. Everything turned out perfect. My cervix is now closed. He is weighing at 5 lbs 4 oz. He was even eating when we saw his face and sticking his tongue out. Awesome. They did an internal ultrasound and the tech said 'oh wow his head is right there". I saw the same midwife that was in the emergency room. She said I was the first person she checked when she came in to see when I delivered. She was so excited to see that the baby was still cooking. They said the blood could be from the cervix contracting yesterday. Today is a good day. I slept the whole night through last night and didn't even wake up to take the contraction meds. I can now take a 1/2 pill which makes me feel a little more human. Tomorrow we go back in for my "regular" check up. I will find out then if I am still on bed rest and if I have to take this contraction medication. I am feeling better but feeling lots of pressure. I can tell he has dropped in the past day and sometimes it feels like he is just going to fall out. I can feel his head turning and it is very low. So now it is just a waiting game. We have made it to 35 weeks and now we can definitely have him at Forsyth Hospital. We are excited about that because we are very close to Nate. Now it is the waiting game.
