16 new things about Nate

16 new things about Nate

1. Spitting is still here but not as bad. He mostly does it when we tell him no to something or he is getting really tired. Improvement.
2. He can count to TWO. He loves saying TWWWWWWWWWWOooooo. He will just be doing something and say it OR he is watching a show that is counting and will say TWOOOooooo
3. He can throw Gabbie's ball for her. But only on the hardwood. He grabs the ball and runs to the hardwood and throws it. He is so proud of himself.
4. He can say Gabbie but it is more like Gaaaghee. It is too cute!
5. New word in the past couple of days is Shoe. He says it constantly. He goes and get them and says it over and over again.
6. His favorite toy is the shape cookie jar. We work with him everyday to get the correct shapes into the hole. He tries very hard and has gotten it a couple of times. He is going to be a pro soon!
7. You ask him to go get his shoes and he finds it and brings it to you.
8. I tell him we are going upstairs and he runs to the gate to go up
9. He is starting to say Thank you when you give him things. Not yet perfect on this but getting there
10. He is now in a 6 wide shoe
11. I ask him if he wants to go outside and he goes to the door.
12. He is getting more of an opinion of what he wants or doesn't want. If you hand him something he just takes his hands and moves it side to side pushing it away
13. I ask him if he wants to watch a video and he crawls on top of the couch and sits there waiting for me to turn it on
14. He has never really had a big sweet tooth but his favorite cookie is oatmeal raisin. If I accidentally leave it out he reaches for it and cries until he gets one. I have learned to put them up fast. Out of sight out of mind.
15. The favorite thing for him to play with in our room is my hairdryer. He will drag it around and then try to dry his hair with it. He never plays with it plugged in.
16. This month I got another Nooj made just in case something happened with the other one because he loves it so much. Well he had regular Nooj in his hand and I handed him the new one and he looked at it and the new one. Kept looking at them back and forth and then threw the new one on the floor. I try it all the time and he always looks at their faces and he knows the difference. Smart boy!

Boy or a Girl?

That is the question. Are we having a Boy or a Girl? Well I got to see Tater Tot again today. Everything looks great. The ultrasound tech said he/she has a great nose and profile. Also his/her lungs, heart and liver looks fabulous. She kept complementing on how great Tater Tot looked which always gives you that warm fussy inside. Then she said "would you like to know the sex or did the Ultrasound tech tell you Monday already?". I said to her that I didn't find out with the first one and I don't think I will find out with the 2nd one either. BUT since you said that I am thinking that it is a boy because you could see their parts first--I would think. The ultrasound tech just laughed and laughed. I said "why are you laughing--don't tell me the answer but why are you laughing". She says "I usually see girls first". Now I am dying. Because is it possible that God has blessed me with a girl or was she tricking me and it is a boy! I am now 13 weeks and 2 days so it is early. I did read in my weekly email from Baby Center that " If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries". Well guess what...the ultra sound tech did only a side view and no butt view. So could she see something for a boy without looking at the buttocks? AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! What a great mystery!!!

But she told me everything looks fine and the Dr will go over everything at my next appt on Sept 11th. I told her about the mess up with all the dates and how impossible it would be to wait that long for these results. She told me to change it and then she said wait. She did more calculations and then said actually that appt is great because the 20 week will be after that and it will put me at a perfect time for that ultrasound. She told me in private that if anything is wrong they will call me in 2 days anyway. So praying that in 2 days I don't see the Dr's number appear on my phone. So I kept my Sept 11th appt knowing all that information.

All I have to say is God is good. Today was a fabulous day!

Haaaa doooo

OK this is mostly for record and most people won't understand unless your a Breedlove. When my sister and cousins were little our Muv use to put on a hat or glasses and look at us in a goofy way and say "haaa dooooo". We would all just laugh because she would look so funny with what crazy thing she had on her head. Well I have been passing on the funny tradition onto Nate and I have been saying everytime I put glasses on him or me "haaaa-dooo". well tonight it clicked with him and I put on the glasses and he said it! It brought me the biggest warm fuzzy. What a way to end today on such a funny note! I love this little man!

Update on Tater Tot

Tater Tot gave us a little scare this weekend. I experienced some bleeding and a little cramping. I called the Dr on Saturday morning and put me on bed rest this weekend until we could do an ultrasound on Monday. Boy was this a long weekend. Thank goodness for my mom and Brad. Mom has helped us out so much since she has lost her job. Some ways I think it was meant to be that way because God knew how much I would need her help. Muvie came over Sunday and spent the night and watched Nate for us today while we went to the Dr. I was so nervous. I can't feel Tater tot kick yet and it is hard to tell some days if I am really pregnant. All I wanted to see was that heart beat and movement. When we got into the Ultrasound tech room I started crying. All the emotions I have been keeping inside this weekend just let go on the ultrasound table. Thank goodness that the ultrasound tech wasn't freaked out by my crying. So I said a little prayer before she did an internal ultrasound. When she put the stick in I felt Tater tot kick me! What a feeling of relief!! He/she was moving around so much we couldn't believe how active it was. The heart beat was great around 164. She did lots of snap shots and then she did an external on my belly but Tater tot was moving around so much she couldn't get a good snap shot of him/her. She then made a comment before I left and pointed at the pic and said that is probably why you were bleeding. I had no idea what she was pointing at so we headed to the waiting room to see the Dr. This Dr was not my regular Dr that I see but I didn't care. I just wanted an answer of why I was bleeding. Dr McDaniel was really nice. Asked me lots of questions and did an internal exam and swipe of the q tip for test for any internal infections. He said he saw the problem. Now here is where things get a little fussy because it was one of those long medical words I never heard of and I wish I had him write it down. He basically said that the cervix has cells inside. Sometimes when you have kids those cells go outside and become irritated. Something that is common and not to be worried about. Then he went to the other reason why I could be bleeding. Right now I have Placenta previa. The placenta should be located at the top and mine is right on my cervix (at the bottom). This is not normal but very common in pregnant woman. Most of the time the placenta will move when the uterus grows making more room. He stated we need to keep an eye on it because if it hasn't moved by week 20 we need to discuss what to expect the rest of the pregnancy. What I have read it can have you go into labor early and you have to have a c section (which I was already having anyway due to having one with Nate). So I am not going to try to worry about it as much until I reach 20 weeks in Mid Oct.

BUT another thing has changed---my due date!!! As you remember when measuring the end of July he put me 2 weeks back. Well the Dr said with that machine that you take room to room it isn't high resolution like the one I had today and I am right on target from the original dates I gave to the Dr. So my due date is March 4th meaning this one will be a February baby due to the c section at 39 weeks. It will miss all the March birthday's and will have it's own birthday ( I don't have to share) in Feb. So with all that being said I was suppose to have my down syndrome test next Wed but you only have a small window for this test. I had to reschedule that appt for this Thurs. So I get to see Tater Tot twice this week! YIPPEE!!!

So all the prayers we have been saying this weekend came true. We asked God for a heart beat and the baby to be OK. Above are the pics of the ultrasound. I tried to point out the body parts so you can see what you are looking at. I hope you can see it.

Cousin time pics # 3

OK I promise this is the last one. There were too many good ones to pic from. We had so much fun with all of them. We go out to Dallas in a month to celebrate Kendall's 3rd, Jace 1st and Erin's (29 right?). Wish they lived closer!

Cousin time pics # 2

I still have a couple more to post because some of them turned out so cute. Got some really good shots of Jace while he was here.

Cousin time

This one will have to go in 2 post because I want to share a lot of the pictures. Erin, Jimmy, Kendall and Jace all came into town last weekend. Also Chris, Emily, Patrick and Maureen came into town as well. We had Emily's baby shower for Jacob. Unfortunately I forgot my camera last weekend so I don't have any pics. Really mad at myself for that one. Anyway Erin and the kids were still in town this week and they came over last night for dinner. The kids played in the back yard for a while. Also we tried to attempt the "cousin pic" for the 2nd time this week. Do you know how hard it is to get a 15 month old, 11th month old and an almost 3 year old to take a good picture. I hope you enjoy all the pics of us trying to get the perfect shot!

When daddy gives baths

So now I have Brad give Nate his bath time. Just so they can have more bonding time. I look forward to every time he comes downstairs because Daddy seems to give Nate a new hair do. This one was too cute not to share.

Best buddies

Nate has had a best buddy since he was born--Benjamin. This past week Traci and Ben came over for a play date and we both needed some adult conversation. The rain held off so the boys could play in the back yard in the pool and swing set. Nate was all about the pool and Ben was all about the playing with the balls in the yard. I did end up getting a couple shots of them together.

Tater Tot at 9.5 weeks

Week 4Week 6

Week 9.5
Week 9.5

Well this week has been interesting with Tater Tot. The hips have been killing me making it really hard to sleep at night. Pillow arrangement has already started! So why have my hips been hurting so much? Um yeah so Tater Tot has already made an appearance poking out at 9.5 weeks. I looked down yesterday and I was shocked!! I didn't really start poking out with Nate until 14 weeks. I have heard that you show earlier with the 2nd and wow people you were right! So now I have to go shopping for some shirts and summer pants. Hopefully there is some really good clearance sales right now!

Nate is doing OK. He has been battling these eye top teeth and I feel so bad for him. Last night he got up 4 times which is not like him at all. He usually is a really good sleeper. Today he has been extra fussy. I hope these things break through very soon. It has been a long 3 weeks doing this.

Nate and the sprinkler

So yesterday I turned on the sprinkler on low to see what Nate would do with it. I do have to say it was quite funny. He would stand and let the water hit him. He would do it for a little while and then go play on the swing set. The pics tell it all!

15 new things with Nate

OK this is the 3rd time I am trying to post this on my new computer. I keep hitting the mouse pad thing and I keep erasing it! UGH....I was almost done last time.

So I have been a couple days behind posting this. Shoot I am behind on so many things lately. My piles keep getting bigger but I just don't have the energy and haven't been feeling good lately. I have thank you cards since June I haven't done, the house is a wreck, closet's need to be cleaned. But the good thing is Nate is getting well taken care of and is eating every day:). But it is all worth getting behind to bring a new member to our family. Hopefully 2nd trimester is good to me:).

Nate went to the Dr today for his 15 month check up. He is doing very well growing. He also showed me what to look for 18 months because the next one is really important we get the check marks because signs of autism. Thankfully he has 1/2 of them checked already. Makes me feel really good!

Stats from today:

Weight 24.8 lbs (gained over 2 pounds since 12 months old)
Height 32.5 inches (grew 1.5 inches from 12 months old)
Head 50.8 cm (grew a little over an cm form 12 months old)

15 new things about Nate:

1. Spitting is staying on here until I figure out how to get rid of this bad habit. I have solved to stop throwing sippy cup and other things but I am stumped on this one.
2. Walk backwards
3. Climb on the couch, toy box, chairs, and the slide. He loves to climb and would rather do that than play with his toys.
4. Words he knows: duck, cow (love hearing him say it), Thank you, Hello, hi, Daddy, and I am now Na Na
5. takes the toothbrush and tries to brush his teeth
6. Takes the comb and brushes his hair
7. Takes the phone and walks around with it up to his ear and talks and talks and talks
8. Ask him where his head his and he pats his head
9. Sing twinkle twinkle and when I say "out comes the sun" he puts his hands over his head
10. now pushes cars or toys with wheels back and forth on the floor instead of throwing them
11. When Gabbie is digging her ball in her towel he goes over and gets the ball out and runs and laughs. He has so much fun playing with her. Thank goodness Gabbie is so mellow with him. He loves to grab her nose and I know it hurts but she takes it like a champ.
12. Loves to eat dog food again. I thought we were over this one but it has come back. I have fished dog food out of his mouth twice last week.
13. The vacuum he got for his birthday is one of his favorite toys and he now pushes it back and forth like mommy:)
14. Every day he plays with this animal puzzles that make noise and he calls everything a COOOW
15. He now plays with his playground set in the backyard like a big boy. He loves to climb up the slide. Also he loves the fort by going inside of it and close the door and open it.

Now onto Tater tot--

Tater has really not made mommy feel very well lately. Sunday I barly got off the couch. But this afternoon I am feeling like myself agian. I hope it doesn't come back. I hate feeling like that. I would love more energy too. Went to the dr last week and everything looked great. Tater was 7 weeks old. Due date is Mid March. I go Sept 2nd for the 12 week ultrasound for Down's. Then go back to the Dr Sept 11th for a status of the ultrasound. This dr office is really big but I really do like my new dr. I am also excited about delivering very close to home. That way Nate can come see me anytime he wants too without worrying about traffic.

I don't have any pictures to share because I have no energy to take them. I will try to do better with that this week and next and post some new things he is doing.
