Well Mother's Day weekend doesn't mean that you get a break from being a mother. It is one job that I cherish. Poor little Wes got a bug bite by his eye on Friday night. The next morning it started swelling up. By the end of Saturday afternoon his eye was getting worse. I took him by CHOA emergency clinic and they gave me all the signs for infection. They said if it started swelling more to come back. So we gave him meds that night and I checked on him around midnight and things were fine. By the next morning I go into his room and it is dark and I can see he is pointing to his eye. I turn on the light and I try not to panic. It was swollen shut. I raced him down to the car and we headed to CHOA of Atlanta since the one by our house was not open till later. They had to take blood from his arm to see if they saw infection because he was on an antibiotic at this time due to another famous ear infection. They were afraid that it could be covering some signs. The worst thing about if there was an infection in the eye is it can go straight to the brain. So after a lot of tears and screaming we got blood out of his arm. Everything turned out OK. We continued to give him benedryl and by the end of Sunday it started going down. But now every time he gets a bug bite I have to really watch it and give benedryl immediately.
But to make me feel more better I took our first belly shot of baby #3. I feel maternity clothes coming soon!
But what made me feel so much beter is gifts from my boys. Nate's letter put the biggest smile on my face. Wes made me a nice flower picture of hydrangea with his fingers.
